Role Summary

The Scribe is the troop’s record keeper. This Scout records attendance at meetings and activities, maintains troop records, and assists with communication. Accurate record keeping is essential for tracking advancement, participation, and troop operations.


Requirements

  • Selection: Appointed by the Senior Patrol Leader with Scoutmaster approval
  • Training: Should complete Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST)

Core Responsibilities

  • Record attendance at all troop meetings, outings, and activities
  • Record the minutes of Patrol Leaders’ Council meetings
  • Maintain troop records as directed by the Scoutmaster
  • Keep a record of advancement progress and completed requirements
  • Assist with troop communications as needed
  • Work with the troop committee secretary on record keeping
  • Prepare reports for the Patrol Leaders’ Council and troop committee as requested
