About Just One Hour A Week
Just One Hour A Week is a volunteer-built knowledge base for scout leaders. Our goal is to help adult volunteers understand their roles, manage tasks efficiently, and keep their units running smoothly — all within the elusive promise of “just one hour a week.”
Why this exists
When you sign up to volunteer with a scouting unit, you’re told it only takes about an hour a week. The reality can be more complicated — unless you have the right resources. This site brings together role guides, task checklists, event planning tools, and training resources so that every volunteer can find what they need, fast.
While our initial content focuses on Cub Scout packs and Scouting America troops, we’re building toward a resource that serves scout leaders of all kinds — including Girl Scout units and other scouting organizations.
How it works
The knowledge base is organized by roles, tasks, events, and training. Each role has its own guide covering core responsibilities, requirements, and related resources. Browse the sections that matter most to you.
