Section titled “Description”An outdoor scavenger hunt activity for the pack or individual dens. Scouts search for natural or Scout-themed items in an outdoor setting, building observation skills, teamwork, and outdoor awareness.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Outdoor scavenger hunts are a flexible, low-cost activity suitable for pack meetings, den meetings, or outdoor events. Teams of Scouts search for natural items (leaves, rocks, animal signs), Scout-themed objects, or clues hidden across an area. The activity reinforces Leave No Trace principles, nature observation skills, and team cooperation. Easily adaptable for all rank levels by adjusting the complexity of the hunt list.

Event Details
Section titled “Event Details”- Create separate hunt lists for different age/rank levels
- Enforce buddy system and stay-within-bounds rules
- Items to find: natural objects, Scout symbols, pre-hidden clues, or photos to identify
- Activity takes approximately 30–60 minutes depending on scope
- Works at parks, school grounds, campgrounds, or any outdoor space
