Section titled “Description”The pack’s primary fundraiser. The popcorn sale season runs from August registration through November distribution and wrap-up. Revenue funds pack activities and generates per-Scout account credits.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Annual Popcorn Sale is the primary mechanism for funding the pack’s program year without relying solely on dues. The sale is run through the council’s popcorn program (typically Trail’s End or similar). Scouts sell through take-order, Show & Sell (at storefronts), and online methods. A portion of proceeds goes to the pack to fund activities and equipment; Scouts may earn individual account credits or prizes. The Popcorn Coordinator (Kernel) attends the council kickoff meeting and manages the pack’s participation.

Event Details

- Online sales: Scouts can sell to out-of-area family and friends via online portal
- Donation in Lieu: Families who prefer not to sell popcorn may donate directly; Treasurer tracks and invoices
Coordination
Section titled “Coordination”- Popcorn Coordinator (Kernel) leads all aspects of the sale; attends council meetings; coordinates Show & Sells
- Fundraising Chair oversees fundraising strategy and supports the coordinator
- Treasurer tracks revenue, credits Scout accounts, invoices donation-in-lieu families
- Cubmaster promotes the sale at pack meetings
