Section titled “Role Summary”The Community Service Coordinator helps the pack give back to the community through organized service projects. Cub Scouting’s commitment to “Good Turns” — acts of service for others — is a core element of the program. This role was previously the standalone Service Chair position.

Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- Registration: Registered adult leader of BSA; current with YPT
- Inherits training requirements from the Program Chair role
Core Responsibilities
Section titled “Core Responsibilities”- Identify and plan service projects appropriate for Cub Scout age groups
- Coordinate service project logistics: location, materials, permissions, safety planning
- Communicate service project details to families
- Ensure service hours are tracked and reported to the Committee Chair for council submission
- Coordinate with the Advancement Chair on service-related advancement requirements
- Plan at least 2 service projects per year to support Journey to Excellence goals
- Ensure all service projects comply with BSA safety guidelines
