Den Pack Meeting Participation

Every den participates in the monthly pack meeting. The den leader coordinates the den’s participation and ensures their Scouts are ready and engaged. Pack meetings are led by the Cubmaster, but dens play an active role.

Each pack meeting assigns roles across the dens. Dens may be asked to:

  • Flag ceremony — Lead the opening flag ceremony (Scout Oath and Pledge of Allegiance)
  • Skit or run-on — Perform a skit or short run-on for the group
  • Display work — Show projects completed at den meetings (crafts, models, art)
  • Advancement ceremony participation — Stand up front as Scouts receive their awards

Coordinate with: The Cubmaster or Assistant Cubmaster at the monthly den leader meeting to confirm your den’s role in the upcoming pack meeting.

Before each pack meeting:

  • Rehearse the flag ceremony if your den has been assigned it
  • Practice any skit or run-on assigned to your den
  • Remind families of the date, time, and location
  • Bring any display items (crafts, project boards) your den wants to show

  • Sit together as a den (keeps energy focused)
  • Den leader is the host or hostess for den families — greet them, help them find seats
  • Cheer on other dens and make every Scout feel recognized
  • Ensure your Scouts are respectful during other dens’ presentations

  • Briefly review with your Scouts: what did they do well? What are they looking forward to next month?
  • Let the Cubmaster know if any logistics issues came up
  • Update Scoutbook if any advancement was recognized at this meeting
